Lycamobile US Plan Deals: Cheap Prepaid SIM Plans

Lycamobile is a mobile virtual network operator, which means it sells phone service on another company's network instead of running its own masts. It is best known for prepaid plans that include international calling, and it operates in many countries. This store is the US site, so plans and prices are in US dollars and work on a US network.

How Lycamobile plans work

Lycamobile sells prepaid, no-contract plans. You pay for a plan period in advance and can change or stop at the end of it. Plans differ mainly by the amount of high-speed data and by the international calling included. You bring your own unlocked phone and use a Lycamobile SIM. Lycamobile has changed its US host network in the past, so check the current network on the Lycamobile site and make sure your phone supports it before switching.

Current offers

• Free SIM: the SIM card itself is free, so trying the service costs only the first plan.
• Low-cost plans: a 2GB plan for $5 a month, a 9GB plan for $10 a month and a 6GB plan for $29 a month (the last is aimed at international calling).
• Data plan sale: 10% off the 10GB, 30GB and 50GB data plans.
• Other discounts: 5% to 10% off plans, and up to 70% off on selected plans in promotions.

These are regular promotions; Lycamobile has no Black Friday-specific offer in the coupon data. Plan prices and introductory rates change often, so confirm the price after any first-month discount.

Who it suits

Lycamobile suits people who mostly use Wi-Fi and need a cheap line, people who call relatives abroad regularly, and anyone who wants a second line for travel or work. Heavy streamers and people who live in areas with weak coverage on Lycamobile's host network should compare a larger data plan or a different provider first.

Before switching

Check that your phone is unlocked, confirm network coverage at your address, and make a note of your account number and PIN from your current carrier if you want to keep your number.
