ESM Computer Deals: Refurbished Business Laptops

ESM Computer is a German retailer of refurbished computers. Most of its stock is former business lease equipment, usually two to three years old, which it checks and resells. Prices are in euros and the site is in German.

What ESM sells

• Refurbished laptops: business models from HP (EliteBook and ZBook), Dell (Latitude), Lenovo (ThinkPad), Fujitsu and Toshiba.
• Desktops and mini PCs: including Dell OptiPlex and HP mini PCs.
• Workstations, monitors and Apple hardware: plus tablets and accessories.

Current offers

The coupon list includes up to 60% off sale products and up to 50% off in the sale section, 18% off the HP EliteBook 755 G5 with AMD Ryzen, 12% off the HP EliteBook 850 G8 with Core i5, and 10% off the HP ZBook Fury mobile workstation. Dell Latitude laptops are listed from €649 and Dell OptiPlex desktops from €233.10, while used HP mini PCs start from €89. There are also discounts on refurbished Dell and Fujitsu monitors. Shipping within Germany is free from €89.

Who it suits

ESM suits buyers in Germany who want a solid business laptop for much less than a new one: students, home offices, small businesses and anyone who values a durable keyboard and build over the newest processor. Former lease laptops like EliteBooks and Latitudes are designed for daily corporate use, and many have easily replaceable parts.

Warranty and returns

ESM advertises 12 months of warranty included and up to 36 months available, with the full terms in its warranty conditions. Consumers have a one-month withdrawal period. Orders ship via DHL; delivery times for other countries are set out in the shipping terms.

What to check

With refurbished laptops, look at the processor generation, battery health information if provided, the cosmetic grade and whether the keyboard layout is German (QWERTZ). For a laptop you plan to keep for several years, the longer warranty option is usually worth the small extra cost.
